Favrot Diagnostic Criteria for Cats1

Dr Claude Favrot PhD DipECVD

Dr Favrot is a board-certified dermatologist based at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He has a particular interest in feline allergic dermatitis and recently led a study that looked at 501 pruritic cats with skin lesions, to identify factors that might aid in the diagnosis of feline non-flea-induced hypersensitivity dermatitis1.

The defined set of criteria developed by Dr Favrot form the basis of the 1-minute allergic dermatitis test. The results of the test will give you a clear indication of the probability that the cat under examination has allergic dermatitis.
